Upon arrival at Ocala Animal Emergency Hospital, a technician will immediately triage your pet to determine the severity of the sickness or illness. Since there are no appointments, the most critical animals will be seen by the attending veterinarian first. A long wait should be expected for stable pets when the hospital is busy. Often your pet will be brought back to the treatment area for examination and observation while other animals are being treated. If your pet is critical, he or she will become the first priority and other treatments and surgical procedures will be delayed. We understand that you are very concerned with your pet and we will inform you of the assessment of your family member as soon as possible.

Following a complete evaluation and examination, the veterinarian will discuss the recommended treatments and procedures with the owner. Once the authorization for treatment is obtained, the staff will proceed quickly and efficiently to provide the best possible care for your pet. You will be notified of all changes in your pet's condition as soon possible. Patients are never left alone while hospitalized. A veterinarian and at least one veterinary technician are always present in the building during office hours. All animals needing further care must be discharged on the following regular business day by 6:30am.

Following discharge from the emergency clinic, all diagnostic information and medical records are immediately faxed to your regular veterinarian. X-rays on computer disc will be released with the pet and should be taken to the regular veterinarian for further evaluation.
